Doctor Doctor!!!

September 28th, 2007 by admin

Experts estimate that an astounding 25% of the U.S. population suffers from this potentially deadly combination of Type-2 diabetes, hypertension and blood lipid abnormalities. Dr. Blaylock will not only offer you some simple ways to beat diabetes and determine if you could be a victim of Metabolic Syndrome; he'll share the best non-drug ways to banish it — forever!

Contrary to popular belief, high blood pressure isn't just something you pop a daily pill or two for ... It's a very dangerous disorder. In fact, 75% of stroke victims have hypertension — and 50% of all those who die of first-time heart attacks have it. High blood pressure causes kidney failure, vision loss, aneurysms, heart failure...many serious diseases are related to this epidemic blood pressure disorder. And here's the worst news of all: at least 3 in 10 people who have hypertension don't even know it!

What the big drug companies don't want you to know is that unfortunately, there is no single "magic pill" for sleeping problems…and even worse — insomnia is just the tip of a very big iceberg. Although popping a little pill to sleep soundly seems like an easy solution, there are things you haven't been told about that could be hiding beneath the surface of that insomnia "iceberg".

An astonishing 33 million Americans will lose their sight this year due to cataracts and age-related macular degeneration (ARMD). So, if you are interested in saving your eyes…particularly after the age of 50, this could be the most important letter you read this year. Dr. Blaylock explains how your eyesight and your eyesight health can be protected and saved by nutrients.

If you're like most people today, you probably know you suffer from too much stress. Look, it's no wonder that a recent study showed a whopping 75% of those interviewed felt excessively stressed at least one day per week... Job pressures, relationship and child-rearing issues, financial worries, health problems, too much to do in too little time, even the threat of terrorist attacks — your world becomes more stressful every year. But worse yet, it's not just the stress you are under right now that can affect your health. Scientific studies now prove that anxiety can cause depression, heart attacks, strokes, cancer and worse. Drugs like xanax and even valium may be masking symptoms caused by nutritional deficiencies.

Danger Alert: Coding the GOP Candidates

September 28th, 2007 by admin

terroralertchart.jpgYou're probably familiar with the Homeland Security Advisory System, a propaganda tool devised by Republican Tom Ridge shortly after 9/11. The idea behind terror alerts is to use a color coded schema to exploit people's fears of an impending terrorist attack.

Research on the human brain indicates people respond emotionally (rather than rationally) to certain colors, much as they do to political candidates and specific political situations. Orange reminds us fire and explosions--such as those which follow suicide bombings--whereas blue and green are more soothing colors that remind us of floating peacefully in a lake somewhere in the lush, tranquil wilderness.

The terror alert level was elevated to ORANGE (or "High") in August of 2004, just in time to do some last minute "sweeping up" of fence-sitting voters in the swing states. Whereas people feel frightened by the color orange, they also feel "safer" when a Republican is in charge. Thus, elevating the terror level at this strategically crucial point was a brilliant move by the propagandists; voters who didn't hate women, poor people, or gays voted for Bush anyway, just to protect themselves from being nuked by Muslims.

I started thinking it would be useful to recycle this color coded system as a way to assess the 2008 presidential candidates according to how scary and dangerous they are.

Lyrica and Anxiety!

September 26th, 2007 by admin

Well, I wonder about something.

My Doc is sending me a new prescription for Lyrica. The dosage will be increased to 150 mg twice a day. The day time will be tough and I'll wait to start that when I'm on vacation. It's because of the drowsiness. I am sure I can get used to it so I will give it a try. It's great and is working so well.

The only pain that persists is the that weird leg pain. But, for now, I'm tracking the symptoms and will discuss in detail with my Doc. Also, he said we will discuss Celiac when I see him next time. I see him during my vacation so it's not that far off.

Anyway, what I am wondering is Lyrica affecting anxiety. I think Lyrica helps anxiety. Does anyone know about this? I have to do some research and see if I can find out anything about this. I feel the difference and Lyrica is the only explanation. I don't know about helping the Agoraphobia since I've not been anywhere outside of my "space." But, I will be outside my "space" when I am on vacation. I have several appointments and one is on the edge of safe space.  So we'll see.

If Lyrica helps anxiety I wonder if it can be used off label to help with anxiety problems. God knows, I hope it helps and I continue to feel this well.

What do you think?

New Ideas? Celiac?

September 26th, 2007 by admin

First off I have to report good news.

I increased my Lyrica dose and resumed my Provigil. I had stopped taking Provigil for about a month since it lost its effectiveness.

Good news, Provigil is working again and the increased dose of Lyrica really helped. I'm a bit groggy headed from the new dose but that will pass.

So, I am doing much, much better!!!!!

Now about the comments regarding Celiac. It is food for thought. I found this .pdf file from Fibromyalgia AWARE magazine May-August 2006. Click here to download.

So many of the symptoms cross the line into other conditions and I can see how Celiac can be overlooked. It can really be overlooked if the mild IBS-like symptoms are never reported (this is me) to the Doc.

I will ask my Doc to test me for Celiac. It certainly won't hurt and if it comes back positive it will change everything!

Thanks Sara, Aesh and Brad for the great comments. I will be investigating this. I know a bit about Celiac but did not think it applied to me. Hmmmm, one never knows. smile_regular

On another topic I lost my temper last night. This may seem minor but with me its a big deal. I don't lose my temper often because I have a violent temper. Don't worry, no one got hurt and my fur babies are OK and everything that was smashed against the wall has been repaired.

Why? I honestly think it's the building up of pain, fatigue, anxiety, fear of the future and so on and so on. I just couldn't take one more thing and I exploded. Thank goodness this did not happen at work.

For now, all is well and I'm at work. computer

Carrie Underwood Carries Us with Love Singing “So Small”- Song of the Week at Camelot

September 26th, 2007 by admin

So Small

The first time we heard this song from Carrie Underwood, it stuck in our armoured heads and in our hearts.    The lyrics speak to hard times.

When you suffer with chronic pain every problem can feel like a mountain.    Fighting Pain takes just about everything you have.  And you don’t think you will make it up the mountain cause it’s just so hard each day.    That is when you need to look out to the world with new eyes.  You must look out with loving eyes.   You must grasp onto the last ounce of love in your heart and hold on.

It is impossible to live your life like other people, when your life is full of suffering.   You must instead look for single moments to give you joy.  When you find love in a moment, you can then carry that moment with you for days.     The secret is to live truly in that special moment.    And to truly live in that moment you must have an open heart with love.

Of course, it is not fair that you must have only moments, but life may not always be fair.   But how you choose to react to the unfairness is up to you.     Love is the most healing power in the world, so perhaps it is a good choice to choose love.

The Rose of Sharon (Lady Sharon) Knight of the Pain Table of Camelot

Lyrics to "So Small" hat you got if you ain't got love The kind that you just want to give away It's ok to open up Go ahead and let the light shine through I know it's hard on a rainy day You wanna shut the world out and just be left alone But don't run out on your faith

Cause sometimes that mountain you've been climbing Is just a grain of sand And what you've been out there searching for forever Is in your hands And when you figure out love is all that matters after all It sure makes everything else seem So small

It's so easy to get lost inside A problem that seems so big at the time It's like a river that's so wide it swallows you whole While you're sitting around thinking about what you can't change

And worrying about all the wrong things Time's flying by, moving so fast You better make it count cause you can't get it back Sometimes that mountain you've been climbing Is just a grain of sand And what you've been out there searching for forever Is in your hands Oh, and when you figure out love is all that matters after all It sure makes everything else seem So small, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Sometimes that mountain you've been climbing Is just a grain of sand And what you've out there searching for forever Is in your hands And then you figure out love is all that matters after all It sure makes everything else Oh, it sure makes everything else seem So small

Groaaannnnn

September 26th, 2007 by admin

I hurt. I hurt. I hurt. This is ridiculous. I've been in unbearable pain all day long. Less than no energy-- it feels like the life has been sucked out of me. Searing pain in my hips, shoulders, legs, and the soles of my feet. I want to cry, but I don't think I can summon the tears. I'd have to work too hard to get them to form in my friggin' tear ducts. There HAS to be an explanation for this. There has to be a cure.

And whoever keeps typing "Fibromyalgia is complete bullshit" in the Search Engine Terms should seriously consider getting some semblance of a life. Better still, come live in my body for a day or two.
